Tips to Help You Find a Reliable Mount Holly, NJ Dryer Vent Cleaning Company
Laundry is one of those chores that seems like it never ends. Just as you finish the last load, you turn around and dirty clothes are filling up the basket again. While it may be a nuisance, washing your dirty clothes is one of those things you just can’t avoid. Fortunately, thanks to the advent of the modern washing machine and clothes dryer, this chore isn’t as tedious as it could be. Imagine having to wash everything by hand and then hang it up to dry? Yikes!
While there’s definitely no arguing that a clothes dryer makes doing the wash a whole lot easier, these appliances experience a lot of wear and tear. In order to ensure it continues functioning properly, it has to be properly maintained, and routine dryer cleaning is one of the most important parts of that maintenance. Every time a load of laundry tumbles through the machine, bits and pieces of fabric, dirt, hair, and lint, collect in the dryer vent that exhausts the heat and moisture the machine produces out of your Burlington County home. As the gunk builds up, the efficiency of your clothes dryer will be reduced, and as a result, it will take longer for your laundry to dry, and your utility bills will spike. More importantly, however, a dirty dryer vent can increase the risk of fire. As the heat travels through the vent, the bits and pieces of lint, which are highly combustible, can ignite, and in the blink of an eye, your entire house could be engulfed in flames. According to the Consumer Products Safety Commission, approximately 15,600 clothes dryer fires occur throughout American homes each year, and clogged dryer vents are a significant contributor to those fires.
To maintain the efficiency of your clothes dryer, but more importantly, to ensure the safety of your loved ones, yourself, and your Burlington County home, regular dryer cleaning is a must. If you’ve never hired a Mount Holly, NJ dryer vent cleaning company, however, you may be wondering where to start. These simple tips can help to point you in the right direction of finding a reliable professional that offers dryer vent cleaning near you.
Ask The People You Know
Start your search for a dryer vent cleaning company near you by asking the people you know for recommendations. Ask your family, friends, neighbors, the people you work with, or anyone else you know and trust if they have used a Mount Holly, NJ dryer vent cleaning professional before and if so, if they would recommend them to you. If they have, inquire about the services the company provided and whether or not they were satisfied with the results.
The people you know and trust are a great way to find reliable professionals, including dryer vent cleaning companies. Why? Well, because you can usually count on the people you know and trust to share their honest insight. If they were happy with the company they used, they’ll let you know; likewise, if they were less-than-thrilled, they’ll let you know that, too.
Ideally, you should try to find at least three Mount Holly, NJ dryer vent cleaning companies to consider. Whether you weren’t able to get any recommendations from the people you know or you want to add a few additional contenders to the list, check online. You can find pretty much anything you’re looking for online, including companies that offer dryer vent cleaning services. Simply type in “dryer vent cleaning near me”, “vent cleaning in Burlington County”, or a similar query into Google, and there’s no doubt you’ll find a long list of options to choose from.
Take the time to visit the websites of a few different companies that come up in your search results. Reputable Mount Holly, NJ dry vent cleaning professionals will have well-designed websites that feature pertinent information that prospective customers would find useful; the services they offer, how long they have been in business, their credentials, their contact information and hours of operation, and perhaps even testimonials from past clients. The website doesn’t have to be fancy; however, it should be easy to use and informative. If the website is poorly designed, it features very little information, and it seems like it was just thrown together, proceed with caution. Reliable companies know that a large percentage of prospective customers will use the internet to find dryer vent cleaning services, and as such, they’ll make sure that their websites are well-designed.
Once you’ve found at least three Mount Holly, NJ dryer vent cleaning professionals that you’re interested in, schedule consultations with each one. Whether over the phone or in person, before you hire a vent cleaning company, a consultation is a must. It not only allows you the opportunity to ask some key questions and to learn more about each candidate, but it also gives you the chance to get a read on the type of experience you can expect.
The following are examples of some of the questions you might want to consider asking:
- How long have you been in business?
- Do you have a valid license and insurance?
- Are your technicians certified?
- What does the service entail?
- How many technicians will be working on the project?
- What kind of tools and equipment will you be using?
- How long do you think the service will take?
- Is there anything that I should do to prepare?
- What are your rates?
- What type of payments do you accept?
While you’re speaking with each company, in addition to asking questions, pay attention to the impression they make. Did they seem friendly? Were they able to answer all of your questions? If the consultation was in-person, did they arrive on time? If it was over the phone and you had to leave a message, did they respond in a timely manner? Based on the answers you receive and the impressions that were made, you should be able to narrow down the options to a company that offers dryer vent cleaning near you that you’ll feel confident hiring.

Some information about Mount Holly, NJ
The township of Mount Holly is the county seat of Burlington County, New Jersey, United States, and an eastern suburb of Philadelphia. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township’s population was 9,536, reflecting a decline of 1,192 (−11.1%) from the 10,728 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 89 (+0.8%) from the 10,639 counted in the 1990 Census. Mount Holly gives its name to the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office for the Philadelphia metropolitan area, though the office is actually located in adjacent Westampton.
The first European settlement in what is now Mount Holly began in 1677, when Walter Reeves acquired land from the Lenape (Delaware) Native Americans living in the area. He constructed a dam on Rancocas Creek to channel water through a raceway to power a grist mill and saw mill. Edward Gaskill and his sons dug the mill race on their property between 1720 and 1723. After the mills were established, more settlers were attracted to the area and built houses and commercial buildings on High, Church, White, Mill, and Pine streets, including the Shinn Curtis Log House (1712). By 1800, over 250 dwellings had been built.
Today no mills remain on the raceway, which still flows in its original course from the Rancocas just above the dam. The raceway proved a way for herring to make their way above the dam and was the scene of an annual fish run in the spring which provided fresh herring for salting and eating. The former mill land has been preserved as the Mill Dam Park. It marks the importance of mills to the early settlements.
On December 17, 1776, Colonel Samuel Griffin of the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River with 600 men — mostly untrained men and boys, and with little equipment — and marched to Mount Holly, where he set up a few ‘3-pounder’ artillery pieces on Iron Works Hill. Hessian commanders von Block and Carl von Donop, were told that there were 3,000 American troops at Mount Holly.
