Should You Inspect Your Dryer Vent?

You may not know that you need a dryer vent cleaning in Herberts, NJ if you have never inspected your dryer vent. Also, you may not know if you can inspect it. Luckily, you can inspect your dryer vent on your own without having to call a professional service, like Apex Air Duct Cleaning and Chimney Services. In fact, you should periodically inspect your dryer vent.

Checking on your dryer vent ensures you find issues before they start to cause problems. Clogged or damaged vents can harm your dryer or can potentially cause catastrophic damages to your house, so you want to care for your dryer vent.

During your inspection, you should look for lint, dirt, or grime buildup, along with other obstructions or damages to your pipe. You can clear some excess lint if you notice it, but you should call a professional company if you see a lot of buildup clogging your vent.

What Can Clog Your Dryer Vent?

One of the most common issues with dryer vents is clogs, and lint often causes these clogs. The lint from your clothes in the dryer will enter the vent, along with hot air and moisture. This lint can stick in the vent, especially in the cracks and bends.

Is a Clogged Vent Dangerous?

Unfortunately, clogs in your vent are common; however, are they dangerous? You never want anything clogging your vents since it can keep your appliances from working. After all, the purpose of your vent is to let out the hot air and moisture from your dryer. If you have lint clogging your vent, these other elements can’t get through as effectively. This will cause your dryer to not work as well, resulting in wet laundry and more energy usage.

However, that’s not the only issue that can come from a clogged vent. Lint is flammable, and you don’t want this flammable material to meet the hot air coming out of your dryer. This combination could result in a house fire. House fires are dangerous and sometimes deadly, so you don’t want to gamble with your safety.

Also, air and moisture aren’t the only things going through your dryer vent. Gases, such as carbon monoxide, also travel through the vent to exit the house. If you have a clogged vent, this can result in carbon monoxide lingering in your Herberts, NJ home. This odorless, colorless gas is dangerous, so you want to avoid letting it build up in your home.

What Else Can Get in There?

Other things can get into your dryer vent, requiring dryer vent cleaning services in Middlesex County. One of the worst things you can get into your dryer vent are pests, such as insects or rodents. No one wants pests living in their house, but they’re more than an inconvenience. These insects and rodents can carry diseases, so their droppings in your vents can cause harm to your family.

You should always call a professional if you suspect that some pest has entered your dryer vent.

Who Can You Call for Clean Out Dryer Vent Services?

Now that you understand the clean out dryer vent services available in Herberts, NJ, you may wonder who you should call. Apex Air Duct Cleaning and Chimney Services can provide every service you need when you need a vent cleaning.

No matter who you choose, you should find a company specializing in dryer vent cleaning or a professional HVAC company.

Can You Do It on Your Own?

While you can choose an HVAC company, can you also do it on your own? In theory, you can perform this cleaning alone. However, you most likely don’t have the equipment necessary to clean all the bends in your dryer vent.

Also, you may have to climb to uncomfortable locations, like your roof, to access your dryer vent. Therefore, it’s safest to call professionals rather than do it alone. They have the experience and education necessary to ensure you can keep your home safe.

How To Find the Right Dryer Vent Cleaning Service for You

Now you need to start looking for the right dryer vent cleaning service for you; how can you find them? You should look through reviews and ask your friends and family for recommendations whenever you need a service done. Seeing what other people say about a company can give you a good idea of whether you will get a quality service from them.

Also, any job that requires climbing on a roof is dangerous. Therefore, you need to find a company that has insurance. You want to ensure that if anything happens to one of the workers as they work on your vent, the company will cover them.

Finally, ensure you find a company with a lot of experience working on dryer vents in Middlesex County. Also, make sure the employees have experience as well as the company. The last thing you want is inexperienced workers taking care of your vent.

Some information about Herberts, NJ

East Brunswick is a township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The suburban community is part of the New York City metropolitan area and is located on the southern shore of the Raritan River, directly adjacent to the city of New Brunswick. According to the 2010 United States Census, the township’s population was 47,512, reflecting an increase of 756 (+1.6%) from the 46,756 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 3,208 (+7.4%) from the 43,548 counted in the 1990 Census.

The general area of central New Jersey was originally occupied by the Lenape Native Americans. According to a 1677 bill of sale now in the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, New Jersey, Thomas Lawrence, a New York baker, purchased thousands of acres of land from local Native Americans named Querameck, Kesyacs, Isarick, Metapis, Peckawan, and Turantecas.

In this document, the area is called Piscopeek, which later become known as Lawrence Brook, after its purchaser. Around the late 17th century, settlers began arriving in the northern part of East Brunswick, and by the mid-19th century, a small settlement had formed in the southeastern part, known as the Old Bridge section of the town, an area that was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, the Old Bridge Historic District.

The area today known as East Brunswick was incorporated in 1860 from parts of North Brunswick and Monroe townships, including the community of Old Bridge. Originally a farming community, suburban settlement started in the 1930s with improved road access. Large scale housing and road construction, especially after World War II, transformed East Brunswick into a more suburban community. The extension of the New Jersey Turnpike to East Brunswick in 1952 led to a sharp spike in population growth, with the 1950 Census population of 5,699 more than tripling to 19,965 as of the 1960 enumeration.
